Recognition and Awards 表彰與獎項

Much of what ICA has accomplished over the past thirty odd years was acknowledged and accredited by the Queen’s Award for voluntary organisations in 2005,

“… a prize which rightly brings even further recognition and prestige than your outstanding record already commands and in displaying The Queen’s Award Emblem, demonstrates your ability to meet the very high standards which are central to the United Kingdom’s volunteer spirit” (Colonel Brian Kay OBE TD DL FRSA, Chairman of ICA and HM The Queen’s Representative in Islington)

The Association is the only Chinese charity in England being awarded the Queen’s Award for Community Voluntary Service in 2005.   Different awards were presented to the staff and volunteers over the years:

• London Champions for Voluntary Service in 2005 to Dr. Stephen Ng and Karen Kwok
• 2006 Outstanding Chinese Older People Award to Yuen Liu and Kam Shing Lam
• Outstanding Chinese Women 2006 to Katy Tse Blair
• Islington Mayor’s Civic Award to Perry Fung in 2007, Mana Wong in 2006 and Chun Loy So in 2000

There are lots of unsung heroes serving tirelessly for the benefit and welfare of the Chinese community.  Without their voluntary contributions and the support of the members, friends, donors and sponsors, the Association could not have come this far.  ICA will continue to promote and champion voluntary services working with statutory and voluntary agencies, including other Chinese organisations.

過去三十多年來依士靈頓華人協會獲得無數嘉許，並於2005年榮獲英女王志願組織慈善服務獎︰

「……獎項帶來進認可和聲望; 優秀嘉賞誌記長期努力傑出的義工服務精神」（本會主席琦拜仁上校OBE TD DL FRSA）

依士靈頓華人協會是2005年唯一的華人慈善事業在英國被頒英女王社區志願服務獎。

• 吳呂南博士和郭家詠獲頒2005年倫敦志願服務獎章
• 廖源及林錦成分別榮授2006年度傑出華人耆英獎
• 謝錦霞獲授2006年英國傑出華人女性大獎
• 蘇俊來、黃姑娘和馮兆雄分別在2000年、2006年和2007年獲授依士靈頓市長公民獎

這漫長歲月裏當然還有很多無名英雄無償地提供服務和捐贈，為華人社區的利益和福祉，無私奉獻。
