Realising Effective Community 和諧社區項目

這是一個由彩票基金資助的為期三年半的項目。

依士靈頓華人協會旨在打破溝通障礙，促進社區和諧（特別是說普通話的中國人和講廣東話的中國人之間更緊密的整合），為依士靈頓華人社區、倫敦及其周邊地區的人提高和改善生活質量並提供機會。

本個原為期三年的項目現已額外增加七個月，旨在促進社區和諧，配合社會變化，通過各種活動提供優質高效服務，例如：舉辦卡拉OK友誼賽；乒乓球比賽；划龍船比賽；太極班；使用流動電話基本班；與其他志願團體商業機構合夥一起向有需要的人提供免費早餐、免費食品、冬季住宿和救災工程等。

我們期望取得的成果:

首先，我們積極主動參與社區探研並鼓勵服務對象接受社區學習和融合，儘早介入問題和挑戰。

其次，我們幫助服務用戶了解公民權利和責任，通過提高語言能力，社交人際關係和就業技能以增強他們的信心和獨立自主性。

第三，我們會鼓勵會員們發揮領導才能，推動義工參與，並增加服務用戶量。最後，我們將為用戶提供平台，讓會員們之間在本社區內建立愉快關係和強大團隊，並在華人社區，黑人、亞洲、少數民族等族群團體，難民組織和英國主流社會之間，建立橋樑作用以實現和諧的社區。

ICA was funded by the National Lottery Community Fund to deliver this ambitious three and a half year project. REALISING EFFECTIVE COMMUNITY facilitated social change through a variety of recreational and support activities. Our OBJECTIVES were:

To develop a strong Chinese community in Islington and in London;

To promote community harmony (particularly, integration between Mandarin-speaking Chinese and Cantonese-speaking Chinese);

Examples of our REALISING EFFECTIVE COMMUNITY activities:

Karaoke friendly contest; Table Tennis tournament; Dragon Boat race team building; Improving health and fitness through Tai Chi and qigong; Smart Phone class for the elderly; partnering and volunteering with other voluntary communities and business groups in providing free breakfasts, free meals, winter shelter and relief works to those in need.Edit

PEOPLE’S RIGHTS ADVISORY GROUP

此項免費福利諮詢服務與依士靈頓區市民權益組織合作, 由專家解答協助解决疑難。

由2015年四月二十日(星期一)起每月逢第一及第三個星期一上午十時至十二時三十分在依士靈頓華人協會進行。提供國語、粵語繙譯，一切保密。

With support from Islington People’s Rights DEMENTIAthis was a limited free and confidential service to the Chinese community. Assistance included explaining welfare benefits, help with reading documents and filling in forms. There was also free welfare benefits and debt advice, all made available through booked appointments.

DEMENTIA

退智症茶座: 與全國華人保健中心合作，舉辦連串講座、工作坊、茶座；了解、認識和以積極心態面對退智症。

In collaboration with the Chinese National Healthy Living Center ICA hosted a series of workshops to share and explore experiences of dementia in our daily lives.

Legacy of Limehouse Chinatown: Tracing the histories of London’s old Chinatown

舊華埠記憶 – 尋找東倫敦舊唐人街歷史

In 2010 ICA was awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to deliver a Chinese heritage project: Legacy of Limehouse Chinatown. The project was conducted in collaboration with Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives and the Islington Museum. Starting in August 2010, the 14-month project aimed to trace, record, preserve, celebrate and disseminate the history of the earliest settlements of Chinese migrants in Limehouse – London’s first Chinatown. Through interviews, the project collected items of cultural heritage, uncovered local stories and memories from late 19th century up to the 1960s. The oral histories collected from this project have been deposited at Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives and Islington Museum to be made available to the public.

依士靈頓華人協會華人關愛服務計劃

依士靈頓華人協會獲得倫敦橋慈善基金 (The City Bridge Trust) 與及萊斯銀行基金 (Lloyds TSB Foundation) 資助，正展開簇新華人關愛服務計劃，主要為北倫敦區廣大華人服務；基本服務免費，其它相關服務收費廉宜；歡迎查詢及使用所有服務。

協會提供免費福利諮詢服務，一般房屋、地方稅、退休金、失業金、就業查詢、子女教育、家庭暴力、醫療翻譯等等均可携備有關資料，親身至本會查詢。由於本會現階段未能提供每周五天全天候諮詢服務；用者最好先致電預約，減免費時失事。

依士靈頓華人協會《長者服務推介》計劃

配合依士靈頓市政府的老人照護與支援革新議程，本協會獲得市政府之創新基金 (Innovation Fund)撥款，由四月份開始推行《長者服務推介》計劃，向長者們推介老人福利與支援的新概念以及相關的申請途徑。由於每一個需要照護與支援的長者老人都有他（她）個別的需要，故此，在新的途徑中，他（她）們將可以根據個別的情況，向政府申請福利和支援的個人配套，並雇用私人照護助理，這樣將能夠更貼切地滿足每位長者個別的需要。如果你想多了解詳情，歡迎向計劃統籌高玉梅（高姑娘）詢問。

華人社區特稿, 依士靈頓華人協會供稿

“適切計劃” 為華人免費提供創業諮詢服務

英國華人身處異鄉經營小生意, 礙於言語文化不通, 缺乏專業知識而困難重重. 歐洲社會基金撥款資助的”適切計劃” (SIED), 協助有心創業或正在經營中小企生意的華裔社區, 提供適切及關切的諮詢服務. 推動這個計劃的陳志彬, 希望協助華人打破重重障礙, 建立起自己的生意.

活青社一巨獻 2004 ‘When Yellow River meets the Thames’ ＂當黃河遇上泰晤士＂音樂劇

依士靈頓華人協會之青少年計劃 – 活青社已於2004年4月份，成功於倫敦史拿劇院上演一連兩場的音樂劇＂當黃河遇上泰晤士＂，約400觀眾入場觀看。從構思、策劃、發展到實際綵排，這一群滿腔熱情又大無畏精神的年輕人共花了一年時間去籌辦。此音樂劇觀眾反應熱烈，迴響巨大，令台前幕後的工作人員非常鼓舞。許多年青人因此蠢蠢欲動，希望協會日後能有更多機會讓他們一展才藝。

2005年秋天，專業戲劇老師李域基(Ms. Veronica Needa) 為協會活青社會員推出共八堂的戲劇藝術訓練課程，包括舞台管理、導演、創意寫作。此系列為李域基所申請的英倫藝術局基金撥出項目，＂讓我們的故事出臺＂一部分，又透過藝術局的多元發展主任鮑皓昭小姐的支持，協會獲得英倫藝術局的小量基金作為劇本創作，由專業編劇黃健勝先生帶領一班活青社青年人寫下第二齣歌舞劇本＂力爭上游＂。

Creativity is a powerful tool in distracting our young from destructive influences. Under Perry Fung’s leadership a group of 12-28 year olds wrote, produced and performed two bilingual musicals – ‘When Yellow River meets the Thames’ and ‘Changing Fortunes’. Both scripts drew on daily family lives in Britain’s Chinese community, reflecting the perennial issues of generation gap, friendships and troubled relationships with siblings. . The experience gave ICA’s young participants pride and a thought provoking platform upon which to discuss these sensitive issues. Realising that family problems cannot be tackled without parental involvement some dysfunctional families in the community were motivated to rebuild positive relationships through practical parenting classes and individual counselling.

Eat Healthy Kids Happy

《孩子健康父母心安》健康食譜出版

繼《樂在廚中》健康食譜成功推廣家庭廚樂後，2006年協會婦女組再次得到“國家獎劵基金”贊助，創作印行《孩子健康　父母心安》健康食譜一書。是次出版重點放在親子關係。協會婦女組冀望透過健康美食，拉近父母與子女距離，促進兩代和諧關係。

With the support of “Awards for All” funding, another cookery book Eat Healthy Kids Happy is published by ICA in 2006. This lively book, different in emphasis from Wok with Me (2004), aims to promote better relationships between parents and children through their collaborative efforts in making healthy dishes.

《樂在廚中》依士靈頓華人協會婦女組精心傑作

食出滋味，煮出真我。協會創辦至今，一直鼓勵華人婦女投入社會，完善自我。2004 年，協會獲得”國家獎劵千禧基金”贊助，並在泗和行、榮業行與無線衛星台之熱心支持下，得以策劃並設計出版《樂在廚中:依士靈頓華人協會婦女組精心傑作》。出版這本食譜，旨在肯定華人婦女在家庭的作用，推動她們持續進修，投入社區。

With funding from the National Lottery Millenium Awards for All fund and sponsorship from SeeWoo Foods Ltd., Wing Yip PLC and TVBS-Europe, ICA pioneered the Chinese Healthy Cookery Project and published the cookbook Wok with Me in 2004.

Millennium Faces – Chinese Older People in the UK: a collection of Black & White photographs

《千禧臉譜 ─ 英國華人長者黑白攝影集》

2002年，在”獎劵基金”資助下，協會自行編輯出版《千禧臉譜──英國華人長者黑白攝影集》一書。此攝影集由香港著名攝影家黃勤帶先生操刀，並有吳呂南博士撰寫導言〈英國華人移民簡史〉一文，極具藝術欣賞及歷史研究價值。

“紅塵百劫，緣會萬千，每一個人都有一個永恆的故事”。如吳呂南博士文中所言，華人來英歷史一直未有學者研究。協會出版此書，正正填補了這段應記而未記的歷史。

是年為協會創立十六週年。此書出版亦為慶祝協會成立十六年之喜。
